Meet the Artist...

HH Designs is located in northern Illinois and is owned & operated by artist Hillary Halverson.  Hillary is a graduate of the University of Illinois School of Art & Design, Champaign-Urbana.  She currently teaches art to middle school students grades 6-8.  In May, 2008, she earned her master's degree from Saint Xavier University.  (Yeah!)  In addition to jewelry design, she enjoys many types of art including painting and sculpture.  Hillary is passionate about life's adventures.  She has been to South Africa and southern France, where she attended one incredible semester at the Marchutz School of Art.  She and her husband, Pete, are both outdoor enthusiasts.  They have embarked upon excursions such as camping at large (a.k.a. in-the-middle-of-nowhere) in Canada and the Catskills Mountains.  Hillary channels her personal experiences into her ecclectic and exciting designs.

A Note from the Artist...

I have been interested in all kinds of art for as long as I can remember.  My dream to run my own business began in 2003 while planning the details for my wedding.  My fiance (now my husband and business manager), Pete,  and I wanted to make the evening a personal and special occassion for our guests.  With the help of my family, we added personal touches wherever we could, such as hand-beaded ornaments for favors and centerpieces with hand-sculpted clay roses.  It was a lot of fun putting the whole affair together.  What really drew me in to jewelry, however, was making my own bridal tiara to wear on my special day.  It was exciting to focus my creative nature on something that had such value and meaning to me.  A few months later, I began to entertain the idea of owning my own company to create special jewelry for others to enjoy!  Since then, I have explored different combinations of materials and techniques to develop my unique and life-inspired style.  I would like to thank my family, my friends, and my customers for helping make my dream come true!

Sincerely,

Hillary Halverson
